Renovating the location :::: May - June 2007
In May, Dutch architects Harm
Timmermans and Stijn Kemper, kindly
supported by Fonds
BKVB did an amazing work to design the changes that
would make the
house suitable for morisena
projects. Next to some practical adjustments to the kitchen and the
bathroom, the main focus was on
the attic, which was not being used yet. The idea was to make
it
into a multifunctional loft-like space. By opening the roof with two
roof lights we get natural light inside and lovely views onto the
Transylvanian landscape. In the back a large roof terrace is created,
which can be directly accessed from the garden. This connects the house
with the landscape.
In June, the renovation took place, as an effort
of
Varodi family executed by a private contractor.....and it wasn't at all
an easy endeavor... we shall skip you many of the details regarding
this month-without-a-bathroom phase of morisena in
becoming.
The plan now is to finish the terrace by the
summer 2008 and still
do some fine-tuning work here and there, adjust the door to the kitchen
so that visitors higher than 1.70m won't hit their foreheads against it
anymore....
